80s Metal Style Sonic Characters

Inspired by artwork by John Blanche and Mark Gibbons, which pulls heavy influence from 80s metal album covers, I challenged myself to draw characters from Sonic the Hedgehog in that gritty art style while still staying true to the franchise. My first attempt was the character Blaze the Cat. Making her debut in Sonic Rush from 2005, she is a princess from an alternate dimension and possesses immense pyrokinesis. She is the fierce protector of the sol emeralds, her dimension’s version of the chaos emeralds.
